This scene is the exact reason why David now assumes Mulder and Scully are married. After all, this is what a husband and wife do, right? Throw innuendoes at one another and purposely grow a beard, because you secretly love hearing your “wife” giggle when you rub it against her face?

#you don’t have to be legally married to act that way #I tend to assume that they live together like a married couple but it’s not a legal marriage #the man was on the run#and while the FBI clearly wasn’t looking that hard #I doubt he could really have gone out and gotten married #like… he has to at least pretend he isn’t easily findable#plus… I dont’ know… I just don’t picture them as married #I picture them as happily living together not married #they seem like one of those couples #the kind that don’t need the marriage certificate (via aflawedfashion)

Same, I was just talking to Tashira about this I think if they were to ever get married, they should not show a wedding. Just normal Mulder and Scully but then we see a shot of them wearing wedding bands. No mention of when or where whatsoever, it would be such a Chris Carter thing to do.
